The Truth about the .Hack//
Made By : Daisuke  ( The World BBS )

Since I try to keep up with info regarding my favorite Anime/Manga, .hack included,
this topic is to tell people what's what.

Project .hack and CC2 have offically stated in forums and interviews on the Japanese
CC2 site that there won't be any more .hack related games. The story of .hack was
ment to be told through all forms of media. The part where it's told through a video
game is over. In fact with the 28th episode of .hack//SIGN the main story is completely
wrapped up. The Manga and Anime Bracelet of Twilight Legend however isn't really a
continue-ation. It's another story that extends off the whole Bracelet of Twilight thing.
It's creation was mainly due to them wanting to add humor to the mostly serious series.
Why no more .hack related games? Because there is nothing more to go on. Even if
there was it'd be the same as the other PS2 games which would be boring and stupid.
The only thing that made .hack//GAMES interesting was the plot. Other then that the
whole fake online.... game within a game, game was annoying. If I wanna play an
online game I'll play a real one. That and Project .hack loved the way they wrapped it
up, the way it ended. In fact they have said on CC2's site once that at the very end of
episode 28 it says "END" for that whole reason. That was the wrap up episode. So...
that is why there will never be another .hack related game ever. They have offical said
it would be a bad idea.

Now, as for The World. Project .hack has stated a real version of The World would be
interesting however only if it met two goals. One: It'd be exactly as The World was
ment to be, with the goggles and realistic design. Two: That it had nothing to do with
.hack, as in no Data Drain, no Gate Hacking, no fake PCs walking around and such.
However they feel technology needs to advance a bit first. They say they feel this is
something to look at, that's all at this time though.

CC2 has said before they have plans to do a game similar to The World but it'd have
nothing to do with .hack, I feel "Project Gu" may be this idea.

Project Gu seems to have the same character designer as .hack, at least those
illustrations seem similar.

In short, an online .hack is offical not going to happen. No other .hack games will be
made either. The World on the other hand is still possible. That is something to go for
but only if it's not based off .hack, it'd have to be The World as it's ment to be only.

As of now .hack has been completed. The final Manga of Bracelet of Twilight Legend
was released a few months ago in Japan. The only thing they are working on of .hack
is //Another Birth which is an illustrated novel version of the games. Volume one,
"Infection Expansion" [The Japanese name of game volume one] was released a
couple months ago. They plan to do four volumes, one for each part of the games.
Other then that they may do another .hack//ZERO novel but that's a guess since it
says "Vol 1" on it.

We should keep this bumped for the newbies and such. If any news in the world of
.hack comes up I'll post it since I try to keep up.
